The short version: the editor keeps your documents on your machine. Nothing is uploaded unless you choose to share.

Your documents are read and written locally, on your own machine. There is no backend that receives your file contents, and no account is required to use the editor. Your files are plain .md on disk — yours to keep, move, or back up however you like.
Using the web app at docs.pinrom.co requires an account, and the documents you keep there are stored on our servers to provide the service. Product analytics never capture document content or share links.
The app contacts an update server to check for new versions, so it can keep itself current. This is standard for a desktop app and does not send your documents — it only asks whether a newer release exists.
When you choose to share a document, a private copy is uploaded so the link can render for the person you send it to. Creating a share requires a free account. The shared read page itself opens without an account, at an unguessable link that is never search-indexed. Commenting on or editing a shared document requires a free account on both sides, so contributions are attributed to a person. You can revoke a share at any time, after which the link stops being served instantly. Nothing is uploaded from the desktop editor until you decide to share.
We do not sell your data. We do not index your shared documents or make them public. Private shares are person-to-person and are not search-indexed.
Questions about any of this can go to our contact page.
